What’s the name of this kitchen gadget please?

Author: admin | Filed under: Gadgets

We have a fitted kitchen and the refrigerator door is fitted with a little mechanism that allows both it and its fitted door to swing open together. One piece screws to the fridge door outside, and the other to the inside of the fitted wooden door.

It’s a kind of sliding mechanism, and ours is broken. I need to replace it, – but what’s it called please? And where would I start looking for it?

I could Google it, but don’t know what to call it. I could look on Ebay, but the same applies.
I could go looking in shops, -but what kind of shops? DIY? Fitted Kitchen places? White goods stores?

I’m sure I’d just get blank stares if I went into a store and tried to describe this!

  1. Try the refrigerator manufacturers first. They may have a web site with spares listed (and pictures) which may help. Otherwise call them and describe what you want. I hope you find it.

  2. i believe its called an intergrated door hope this helps..

  3. Why not ask refrigerator dealers in your neighbourhood. Certainly they can help you.

  4. try your local kitchen fitting company they will be aware of it as they will use them all the time probably on every installation. Your description was quite clear.
We had one broken in the U.K many years ago and I found that a piece of cord did the job until I called into the kitchen fitters to pick one up they will not be expensive hope this helps.
