20. VERY expensive there. We spent over a $110US for five of us in MacDonald’s before we moved to the states (we are Chinese). Hopefully it has improved since then. Eat at the mom and pop places on the sidestreets or buy food from the markets.

24. Clothes are so expensive in Japan. You can get away with great food and gadgets for a decent price. If you really search and walk around a lot, you may bump into a cheap clothing store or two. There are some cities north of Tokyo that are less expensive.

32. As of the time of this answer, for around 136 GBP you get 20,000 Japanese yen.

    With 20,000 yen, you can live for one week easily in Tokyo, not including hotel and flight.
    If you are planning to buy a lot of clothing and electronics, take at least 30,000 yen.
