   http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/

   and enter your postcode. It will disply the ordnance survey map complete with heights above sea level

6. Go to http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/ and click the big pink button. Enter your post code and it will center the map on or near your house. Look for the faint brownish lines (contour lines) when fully zoomed in, that are marked with numbers (e.g. 5, 10, 15 etc). If your house is for example, between a 10 line and a 15 line then your house is 10-15 metres above sea level. If you’re on very flat land it may be hard to find contour lines nearby though.

   A more accurate way would be to download Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html). When installed, type in your town name and search. It will fly over to your town. Then if you hover the mouse cursor over your house, it will tell you the elevation in the bottom left corner!

10. Hello, Tools= 4ft level, hammer,many stakes. Go down to the seashore. Place first stake at high water mark hammer in second stake level off first stake and continue in direction of your home the last stake will give you the height of the high water mark on your house.Don’t rely on the electronic of this world they can’ t repair my computer doe’s want it wants half the time.ps the hose pipe level will give same result instructions if needed.

12. download google earth and type in your address, move the pointer over your house, and it will tell your the altitude above sea level in the bottom lefthand corner of the screen.
