I need a small, cheap, electronic gadget so I can make notes while I’m on the train. Any suggestions?

I don’t need anything fancy. In fact less fancy the better so no one will steal it! I currently try and write notes for my Masters whilst travelling to work, but it’s hard to write on a bumpy train so want to type instead. It needs to be very small but able to hold a lot of notes, but nothing other than that. I don’t even know if such a thing exists!!
Should have said not audio – I don’t think the other passengers would appreciate it!

  1. how about a recorder to record and just speak in to it

  2. Bumpy train ride? If it is too bumpy for hand notes, it will probably be worse when trying to type with two hands.
Your best bet is a “netbook”. Look at the HP site, but I think a notebook and a pencil are the best.
