I still remember the day I heard he was gone. I was driving down a country road in southeastern Ohio and listening to his songs on my 8-Track tape player. The tape had cycled through to the point where I put it in the tape player, so I pulled the tape out and turned on the radio. The first thing I heard was the DJ breaking the news about his passing. I just turned off the radio and pushed the tape back in. I think you know the rest of the story. You may have had a similar experience.
New York’s not my home was special to me. I got pulled out of my sr. year in hs,, and removed several hundred miles away to a strange locale. It fit my attitude.
Thanks
A fantastically brilliant and sensitive talent. It’s so, so unfair. Let’s just never forget him, and Maury too.
his music was and still is so awesome. Watching his videos, he seemed to perform with ease. he looked so relaxed in everything. thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Steve, for uploading this. So good to hear him again. One of my favorites of his. From a simpler time for all of us.

I can never tire of Jim Croce’s songs.
Timeless material. JC was a true lyrical poet who’s time was cut too short.
