I should like to know how to sharpen kitchen knives, garden shears etc.?
Author: admin | Filed under: GadgetsCan anyone tell me how I should sharpen my kitchen knives and garden shears please. I have a little gadget for the knives which has ‘crossed’ prongs but I don’t find it much good and it’s far too small to use on shears. Thanks in advance for your help.

A bench grinder is good if you’re carefull
or you could get a stone from the hardware store
Need more information. You can not sharpen a serrated edge. Those little crossed prongs are the best sharpeners on the market. If your working with stainless steel vs. high carbon steel, you’ll spend the rest of your life sharpening them. Take these to a pro.
Gardne shears on a bench grinder or a pro. Just clean up the existing bevel. Its difficult to destroy the angle with normal use.

Sharpening has to be learned from someone who knows how and even then it involves a talent for it. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can dull an object more or ruin it. My best advise is to get someone who knows how to sharpen your things, until you learn the skill of sharpening.
u can buy a block for sharpening them..it is black/grey colored usually and u just run the shears/knives along it
You will need a oil stone from a good diy store ,but it is very difficult to sharpen tools .best of luck
There are services that can do that for you and do not charge much. I would just do that. Then you have a guarantee on their work. Plus they can sharpen electric knife blades or other household tools.
