  4. @TheWimpyshrub Damn, I didn’t know that. Be just our luck for it to be cancelled, especially as they hadn’t put up the 0.2.5 beta for download yet. One day, hopefully someone will take the initiative and release a game which, based upon Elder Scrolls free-roaming and RPG elements, will create a LOTR game which is actually what the fans want. Hell, I’m doing Computing for A-level, I’d like to become a game programmer, I might do it myself.

  6. @spartan13468 I completely agree. I actually played The Two Towers when it came out and had a good time with it, but it just doesn’t compete anymore. Last I heard MERP has been cancelled. Maybe I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen any progress with it in a long time. The Morrowind mod was cancelled a long time ago as well.

  8. @TheWimpyshrub I know I’m appalled at the lack of good gaming material out there for this game. In contrary to your view, from a “let’s have some fun killing people” perspective, the Two Towers wasn’t such a bad game, but if i’m totally honest, they were all complete crap. I think that the only game I see that has a good outlook is an Oblivion MOD. Have a look, see what you think; type MERP into Google search and it’s the Moddb link. And it looks awesome, lets just hope it is =)

  10. I was hoping for more out of this =(… At the moment, I see cheap rip-off enemy ideas from Gears of War, hack-and-slash combat with no RPG elements within it at ALL, a linear level design with disturbingly under-parr graphics and nil character customisation… I will remain optimistic and hope that maybe this game will be better later on, but the outlook at the moment is not good. =(

  12. looks a typical hack and slash game…

  26. As a massive Tolkien fan, this is disappointing. Middle-Earth is so rich with lore, and history. Tolkien created this entire new world with it’s own beginning, and struggles, and heroes, and we can’t even manage to make a decent game. You would think it’s impossible to not make a decent game when you have so much to work with, but everyone has managed it, especially the games based off the movies. I’ve been impressed with Lord of the Rings Online, but this just seems lackluster.

  32. This doesn’t look very good at all. Just typical talent trees, typical talent points, typical item slotting, typical everything. I will no be buying this nor looking at anything that ever has to do with Lord of the Rings games again. Same run of the mill shit

  33. bye bye life :(
