What tips can you give me for the purchase of my brand new car?

Author: admin | Filed under: Motors

I am due to pick up and purchase a brand new car tomorrow (I have chosen it already and am just waiting for it to be delivered). What steps should I take/what do I need to take with me for a smooth hand over of my old car and the collection of the new?
Anyone got a sensible answer? (Apart from the MPG answer)

  11. Check down the back of your old seats… They will if you dont.

  12. Make sure that all the paperwork is filled out accurately and complete. If you are trading a car in make sure that the liens on the title are released or that they have an accurate pay off amount. If any of these things are not done it could cause a delay in getting you your knew title, license plates, etc.

The deal is done. There’s not much to say or advice now. Just make sure that

    (1) you don’t give away a FULL tank in the old car
    (2) empty out the old car of anything valuable (including any stereo, amps, speaker – that was NOT part of the deal).
    (3) look under the trunk floor (where spare tires go). You might have something valuable that fall in there.
    (4) don’t forget the expensive sunglasses, radar, GPS, etc.

When you pick it up, go over the car with the purchase agreement and make sure you are getting the CAR you want. Some of the options ARE NOT possible as add on. So once you drive off the lot, there’s no do-overs.

    Good luck……..

  15. You don’t really need any thing, but you should have asked this question before you bought the car.
When negotiating for a car you should look at the price posted on the car (the sticker price). Then you take the cost of the transportation and dealer prep off the price. Next you take off 1/3 of that price of of the car. Then you add back the dealer prep charge and transportation charge and that should be the actual price you pay. Example sticker price is $22,000 from that take away $1,200 for shipping and $800 for dealer prep. That leaves 20,000 and 2/3 of that is 13,333 then you add back the $1,200 and the $800 back to the $13,333 therefore the final price should be $15,333. It usually gets rounded up to the nearest $50, the final price would be $15,350.
I hope you made out OK.

  17. If it was already ordered for you, its yours already, lil late to ask now. Get the dealer to handle the title exchange with the old car and get a Deed that shows they paid off the trade in as part of the deal. Do NOT pay for having it pre-serviced and cleaned up, the factory already paid them to do that. Get to know the service and parts managers, after the sale the sales person is as worthless as tits on a bull. Check it over and road test it a few miles to be sure everything works before signing for it.
