I have never drank alcohol before, but if I had one beer, could I still drive?

Author: admin | Filed under: Booze

I have never had alcohol before, except sips from parents beers or whatever. So, my question is, if I have one beer can I still drive home without having any impared judgement? If so, how long will it take to wear off?

  1. To be honest you’re still under the limit so you are legal to drive, saying that though if you’re having doubts about your skills behind the wheel i wouldn’t advise it.

  2. I should think that you need to leave it a good few hours before you drove, and only if you felt that your judgement was not impaired. My opinion, no, I think that if its your first time you should get a taxi, lift, bus whatever, because you don’t know what effects it will have on you.

At the end of the day, is it worth possibly killing yourself and someone else if it all went wrong?

  3. If this is your first time drinking, and I’m assuming your of age, I would not drive. You don’t know how your body will react to alcohol. Make sure you drink a lot of water.

  4. Pretty sure. It’s nearly impossible to get over the limit on one beer

  6. You never know HOW you might be affected by first use of alcohol because of these factors: How empty or full your stomach is.Your blood sugar level. Your alertness. Time of day. Peer pressure.
I would not make such an attempt, knowing IF I was pullled over and ticketed the price would be severe and my insurance rates would skyrocket. For years to come my insurance folks could have a field day with my ignant butt. It would especially affect my parents pocketbook, if I was still under they jurisdiction. Can you get the picture?

  8. Since you answered I will tell you that depending on your weight & sex it should not be that it would be any problem.

  9. Alcohol immediately impairs judgment. I’m sure that’s not the answer you want to hear, but since you aren’t accustomed to drinking and you’re putting yourself in a situation where you are the one driving home, you are putting yourself, in addition to anyone in the car and on the road, at risk. If you insist on drinking, though, pair it with a glass of milk or at least a glass of water, and then wait several hours before you get behind the wheel. While that may sound inconvenient, think of how inconvenient it would be to end up behind bars because your head isn’t in the right place and you make a mistake in a mere second. Think about your future; that might sway your decision to drink and drive.

  10. Not to say you would be over the legal limit to drive, but as a new drinker it would be good to get in the habit of not drinking after anything alcoholic enters your body.
Even if you feel you can drive, don’t. It’s irresponsible.
I’m not telling you to not drink, but do it a safe place where you can sleep it off or have someone drive you home. :)

  11. ithink you would be able to drivee,,
depends because last time ijust drank two and got buzzed lol
it also depends on how fast you drink it..

  12. Average height, average weight, no medication, one beer is fine.

  13. you ‘could’ but i advice that you should not.
‘0′ promille it is what it is supposed to be.
if you say ‘driving’ you DO have a drivers license and the age limit to drive? then they should have told you in driving school about that…

  14. don’t drive if you have never drank before don`t drive

  15. i drink a lot of beer mainly lager or cider and i still cant drive …..never passed my test …no really hard 2 tell have 2 consider strength of drink an ur body type an shape but is female so u already at disadvantage so if i were u i wouldnt try it baby …no way

  17. yeah u could drive -x

  18. BlackCossack says:
  19. it depends, you would be under the legal limit per volume but in the UK anyway there is also a law that states u must be in full control etc etc..
So if its your first time you will probably be fine, but you might not, better to play it safe and walk/share a car/take the bus or stay the night!

  20. i wouldnt suggest it. if you have never had a “proper” drink it will hit you straight away big time, especially if on an emtpy stomach. leave the car at home then you know it will still be there in the morning in one piece and so will your licence.
