I want to get a rough idea as to how many people are playing Fantasy Football on the net – and where they play? I know the Telegraph has a big site (270k players) – wondered if anyone knew how many were in the Times – or any others?

You can’t even estimate something like that.. Too many to count. Millions. Around the world. There’s yahoo, cbs, nfl, espn, fox, just to name a FEW. And each of those is bound to have hundreds of thousands. Nobody here is going to be able to give you an answer.
You’re looking at fantasy football with a microscope when you need to be looking at it with a telescope.
I gather that you’re talking football in the greater world sense. Many US Americans will assume you’re talking about American football rather than what we call soccer. ESPN does run a number of leagues, but I don’t know how many people play altogether. I’m in one that’s oriented to Serie A with some other people from work here in Italy and in some of our other facilities in other countries. I play NFL fantasy football on Yahoo, ESPN, Fox, AOL, cbs sportsline, and nfl.com and some off-line leagues.
