Do women think it unfair that consuming alcohol has bigger health risks for them than for men ?

Author: admin | Filed under: Health and Fitness

Do they think that mother nature should be sued for being discriminatory in the way that evolutionary biology has made women’s’s bodies less able to cope with consuming large amounts of alcohol ( ladette style ) as opposed to mens physiology.

  2. Couldn’t care less. I don’t drink much. After having lived with my alcoholic father, drunkeness loses its attraction.

  4. I think it’s unfair, sure. But every individual has their crosses to bear. There are plenty of health advantages to being a woman. I think it all evens out in the end.

  5. It doesnt seem to bother them, they all seem to want to drink the brewery dry!

  6. I’d prefer to see it from a different point of view and this is “mother nature” protecting women and not men, sometime’s one needs to be cruel to be kind!

  7. Not really… it costs a lot less for a woman to get drunk, so if you’re buying your own drinks it helps :) Of course, that’s only if you’re a typical female. If you are like me, then going drink for drink with the guys is not too big a deal :)

  9. I don’t care either way cause I don’t drink.

  10. It’s just a fact. Drinking’s bad for everyone. I know a guy so screwed up on alcohol that he shakes all the time, and have seen men die of cirrhosis of the liver when I worked in the hospital. Don’t think your “advantage” is all that great.

  12. I’m not sure on that one. A lot of drunk b*tches end up in our clinic on the weekends.
It’s safe to say that a lot of them still drink their hearts out just like men do without thinking of the consequences.

  16. Yeah, it’s unfair, but so are breast cancer, uterus cancer, cancer of the cervix etc. And for men prostate cancer, hemophilia etc. I suppose we just need to live with it. Both men and women have their fair share of diseases, so it evens out.

  18. It’s not something that I’ve ever given much thought to. I will have a drink now and then, but it’s pretty rare, and I usually only have one drink (one bottle of beer, one glass of wine, or one cocktail) a fortnight. Since I don’t consume a lot of alcohol, it’s not something that I really think about very much.

However, men also run a pretty big risk if they consume large amounts of alcohol. So I’d say that going out and getting wasted on a regular basis isn’t a good idea for either sex. Maybe women have a greater risk factor, but men don’t have a free pass in this matter.

And Mother Nature? As an atheist, I don’t believe in such a being. If she were real, though, I’d love to see someone try to sue her. I don’t laugh enough.

  20. the real question here for feminists is how to put the blame on men.

  22. actually drinking alcohol is unhealthier for women because there bodies are weaker, but the reason men have more health problems than women is that men drink a lot more than women
